To whom it may concern:
I would like to commend the excellent service I received from Corporal Q.E. Mills on the evening of November 19, 2010. I was stopped by officer Mills just east of the Sunpass area at the beginning of the Sawgrass expressway. Although I was cited for a minor infarction (not using my seatbelt), It was a refreshing experience to be served by such a professional law officer who treated me with respect and took the time to not just cite me but respectfully educate me on my mistake.
I legally carry a concealed firearm on my person and many times I am made to feel like a criminal by law enforcement when I notify them that I am armed. My firearm is usually taken back to their squad car and returned to me completely disassembled. Corporal Mills never made me feel uncomfortable once he knew of my concealed weapon. He secured the weapon in my car and politely requested that I exit my vehicle for his own safety, which I kindly did.
It is very reassuring to know that there are extremely cool headed, professional law officer's patrolling our highways. Corporal Mills is an excellent example of the Florida Highway Patrol and he should be commended for his conduct and desire to go above and beyond.
