To Whom It May Concern:
I would like to make you aware of two FHP officers that went above & beyond the call of duty on my behalf on Thursday, 02/11/2010. I am a 79 year old man & was traveling south on Hwy 231 in Bay County with my disabled wife when I had a blow-out. The weather was especially bad that day - it was raining & freezing cold. Officer Spaziante was the first to arrive on the scene & offered to assist. He jacked up my vehicle & removed my spare to find that it was flat. At that time, he took my spare to have it aired up while I waited in my vehicle. While he was gone, Officer Jones showed up to offer his assistance. The two of them replaced my flat tire which was a challenge as they had to use two jacks & a shovel due to the saturated ground. They both were muddy & soaking wet and wouldn't accept my offer to pay for their dry cleaning or to pay for the air. Both said all they wanted was a handshake, which I gratefully offered. These two fine officers saved me from possible pneumonia & illness from being in the elements. I was as helpless as could be & they were truly my heroes.
With officers like these two on duty, Florida roads are in good hands. This was by far my best experience dealing with law enforcement. I would recommend either of these officers for Officer Of The Year.
