On September 19, 2009, my wife, our daughter, and I were traveling south on I-75 in Marion County when we experienced auto tire trouble. We went immediately to the side of the road, our hazard lights blinking, while I attempted to reach our roadside service company.
Within a few minutes, Sgt Allen W. Sapp stopped behind us, came over to us and asked if he could be of help. He was a gentleman and offered to help us . Soon, Trooper Anthony Dobosiewicz appeared and offered to help, also.
When the service company seemed to be taking longer than promised, Trooper Dobosiewicz contacted them asked if they could "hurry along" to help us get on our way back to Sarasota. It helped and they got us on our way.
Both of these young men gave us a great feeling about the status of our state law enforcement organizations. It was noticeable that both had vests which is, unfortunately, an indication of the world in which we live.
You should be proud to know that people of the caliber of these two are working for "us". I certainly am. I hope that you will note that these men have received a compliment from this proud Floridian, UF graduate and former Member of FL House of Representatives.
Thank you for your interest and the job that you do.
