Please let me take this opportunity to commend Officer Rivera for his assistance yesterday evening.
I was travelling from Port St Lucie to West Palm Beach and near MM 125 blew a tire on my automobile. Officer Rivera arrived at the location within 1/2 hour of my request at the call box. He contacted road ranger; however, they were unable to remove the spare from my trunk and it was necessary to request a tow. Since I did not have a cell phone in my possession, Officer Rivera contacted AAA for me. He remained there waiting for my tow; after about 45 minutes he again contacted AAA and learned they had cancelled the service call (that is another story which I will not go into...this email is for Officer Rivera). Officer Rivera offered to drive me home to West Palm Beach, which would have required me to leave my car there over night. I chose not to accept his very kind offer and asked if he could contact the tow service that is used by the turnpike to have my vehicle towed to West Palm Beach, which he did.
Officer Rivera is truly to be commended for remaining with this stranded motorist for a period of close to 4 hours. I know our Highway Patrol is very busy, but he took the time to fully assist me in this emergency.
Thank you for having such dedicated officers serving the motorists of the State.
