I was involved in an accident on Saturday, March 28 on Interstate 10 in Gadsden County. Officer Ivey responded to the accident. I'd like to thank him for his professionalism. During a heavy downpour, my truck hydroplaned on a bridge, struck the bridge railing, and spun into the embankment adjacent to the bridge. Office Ivey responded and was on site in just a few minutes. After making sure that I was okay, he secured a wrecker, and had me wait in his car (out of the rain) while he completed the report. He was extremely helpful, courteous and kind while processing the accident. He moved his vehicle to ensure our safety, as there were several vehicles that had similar issues around the same time.
He was extremely patient when the original wrecker showed up and determined that he did not have adequate equipment to get my truck out of the ditch. Although he had completed the requisite paperwork and duties, he stayed with me to ensure my safety while waiting for another tow truck. When the tow truck finally arrived, he was very helpful in ensuring that the vehicle was driveable before departing. As unfortunate as the occasion was, I was grateful that Officer Ivey was there to help. I would hope that any future mishap that I might be involved in would involve an officer as helpful as he was to me.
