Dear Col. Czernis,
Please convey my deepest appreciation to Sgt. Scott Hull and Trooper Roberts for a job well done on July 24, 2009. I was transporting 6 children home to Miami from a week of summer camp at Lake Placid Conference Center when our vehicle broke down near Venus on highway 27. I was accompanied by another woman in a small car with 3 additional children from the same group. Sgt. Hull was on the scene to offer assistance shortly after we stopped. AAA had already been called, but Sgt. Hull was able to contact the towing company that had received the call and expedite the process. He came back to check on us and brought Trooper Roberts to assist in transporting the children to a nearby restaurant. The kids were thrilled to be able to ride in the patrol cars and thankful to be out of the heat. Both Sgt. Hull and Trooper Roberts were great with the kids! They added the patrol car ride to the highlights of their week at camp.
While we probably would have managed to get the kids back to Lake Placid and get the car towed without their assistance, the kindness and professionalism of these two officers made the process quicker and much more fun for the kids. Please express our gratitude to these fine officers and their supervisors in the appropriate troop.
Sincerely,
Michele L. Hanson
