I was unable to find an address to send a personal thank you to Sgt. Graf and to copy his commander, but I want to express my gratitude for his assistance when we experienced a horrific accident on Big Coppit Key on January 4th. Our dear friend was killed on his motorcycle and another friend injured when a Jeep crossed the center line and hit them. It was shocking and terrible beyond belief for us. And though your troopers deal with these situations all too frequently, Sgt. Graf was so helpful and attentive to us as we stood helplessly by for the duration of the investigation and clean-up of the scene.
All of the emergency personnel who responded were wonderful and did everything they could to ensure that my husband and I were okay and kept informed while they attended to our friends.
But Sgt. Graf was my hero that day- he accompanied us back to Key Largo to the truck and bike trailer we had left there and helped us get safely on our way home. I can tell just from the limited time I had to talk with him that he is truly a compassionate, dedicated professional who doesn't forget that the people like us that he deals with need empathy and comfort.
My sincere thanks and appreciation to him. I hope this can be forwarded to Troop E and Commander Brierton.
