I was involved in an traffic accident on East bound I10, mile marker 316 on Saturday night, Nov. 7,2009. Fortunately, I was not injured and there were no other vehicles involved, but my car was totally disabled. The officers were very helpful in assisting me as my cell phone died while trying to call friends. Trooper Carmichael was first on the scene since he was closest and then followed by Trooper Cummings. Trooper Carmichael did not leave until he completed the report and was confident the tow truck was on its way. Officer Cummings stayed with me on the scene until the car was
towed and my friends arrived to pick me up. I just want to take this
opportunity to thank both of them for their assistance and help. I understand how fortunate I am that I wasn't injured and no others were involved, but even though I did not have physical injuries, it is unnerving and created a difficult situation late at night on a desolate road. Both troopers were exceptionally helpful. Their kindness was appreciated more than you can imagine. As a resident of Florida, I am proud to know that the Florida Highway Patrol has outstanding officers such as Trooper Carmichael and Trooper Cummings. I was not treated as a report that needed to be completed but rather as a person. I was shown compassion, understanding and thoughtfulness and I am very thankful for their assistance.
