I wanted to take a minute to let you know about the cooperation I received from one of you Duty Officers, Debbie Williams today. I called “in the blind” seeking information from your agency concerning a 3 vehicle crash involving a log truck from the south Georgia area. The owner of the truck had been told by a caller that his truck was involved in a crash at U.S. 441 and I-10. Naturally he was upset when he couldn’t get in touch with his driver. This is where your officer comes in.
I told her who I was and related the above information, asking her if she could possibly confirm the identity of the driver of the log truck. She was extremely courteous and asked me to hold for a minute. Within seconds she came back on the line and told me that at present she was unable to get a name but she offered to call me back and gave me a number to call back to Jax FHP. She was very busy so I thanked her and hung up.
Capt. Gaston, my point is this; she was professional, she got the information available and made arrangements for me to keep in touch and be able to check on the driver when the Trooper cleared up. I of course understood how busy she was, but, she never even hinted that she was too busy, she remained professional. I was very impressed to say the least. Many times Communications Folks tend to let their anxiety build and are short tempered with callers, Ms. Williams displayed a good example of what we consider excellent Customer service. Please let her know that I appreciate her attitude and cordial demeanor. I was able to get the information I needed and let the owner know where his driver and truck were located.
