I am writing this letter on behalf of the Warrington Revitalization Committee of Escambia County Fl. We are a committee of concerned citizens sanctioned under Escambia County's "Community Redevelopment Agency" (CRA). We interact with the county on issues and concerns that directly impact our neighborhoods in the Warrington area of Pensacola.
One of the topics of discussion during many of our monthly meetings has been the complete disregard by motorists to the school zone speed limit postings on Navy Blvd. primarily adjacent to St. John's Catholic School. It was common to have vehicles passing you going 40+ through this area during active school zone times. However, recently Officer Charles Mitchell has been very apparent in his cracking down on the speeding in this area. The daily site of Officer Mitchell pulling people over and issuing citations will surely have a positive effect on motorist's daily commute to and from the Naval Air Station.
I served with Officer Mitchell while we were both stationed at NAS Pensacola on active duty. His integrity and professionalism are still as sharp as ever. Please pass my thanks to him on behalf of our community.
