Ladies & Gentlemen:
I am writing to commend two officers whose actions have prompted
me to correspond with you in this e-mail. Troopers Hall and Peachin
were there to attend to the fatal crash involving our beloved daughter,
Amanda Alzate, April 11, 2007, on the grass strip between I-295 East
where the ramp for I-95 North begins, Duval County.
While they performed their job very professionally they also
were very gentle and kind to my wife and son who went to the site to
confirm that it was our daughter that expired on the scene. They
appropriately prevented my son from looking upon my daughter's severely
damaged body, gently and appropriately. These officers showed the utmost
respect and were appropriate in every way. While it was obvious that
they were moved with compassion, they did their jobs well. My son's
vehicle was parked on the other side of I-295 (upon his arrival he ran
across), the troopers drove them over in their vehicles to ensure their
safety. My wife and son were driven home by friends while escorted by
Trooper Peachin who stayed with us until he was satisfied that his part
was complete.
If Troopers Hall and Peachin's exemplary performance is typical
among your organization I daresay you must all be very proud. Please
forward this commendation to them on behalf of a grateful family.
Sincerely,
Fabian Alzate,
First Coast Service Options, Inc.
