To whom it may concern; I would like to take this opportunity to commend Trooper A. Compton for what I consider going above and beyond. Trooper Compton wrote my son a ticket for an accident (FHPD07OFF003191). I had some questions and concerns about it so I had my son schedule a court date. The infraction hearing was 3/2/07 in Osceola County. We had a very capable traffic hearing officer (Judge?) and the hearing went okay. It is what happened after that makes Trooper Comptons' actions memorable. I was discussing what I thought were important issues about the event and we had a good discussion. He could have dismissed us and gone home to his well deserved rest, but he stayed and talked about it. The more we talked the more we each saw each others point. Trooper Compton stayed for 45 minutes with us until the court opened again for the next set of hearings. He went before the judge and spoke to him about what we discussed. I don't know the outcome yet, but it doesn't matter. The fact that Trooper Compton would take the time to listen and talk with us, and then help us out, speaks volumes for his character. I believe the State of Florida and the Highway Patrol is fortunate to have a person of his demeanor and ability out there doing the great job he does. Keep up the good work!
