To whom it may concern:
I had the unfortunate experience to be involved in an automobile accident on Saturday evening, August 19, 2006, in western Hamilton County, when a large truck backed into my unoccupied mini-van.
After being informed by a Hamilton County Sherriff's Office Dispatcher that FHP handled accidents on county roads, I waited for the FHP to arrive.
Trooper W. G. Smith (ID/Badge No. 2261) arrived and was very courteous and professional. He apologized for the delay in responding to the accident, as there were numerous other accidents that happened in a small time period. Trooper Smith was very personable and immediately put me at ease with the situation. I have always had great respect and admiration for the FHP, and this experience just solidified that opinion.
After I was allowed to leave the scene, I realized that in my "anxious state", I never thanked Trooper Smith for the outstanding job he did. Thank you to Trooper Smith and the members of the Florida Highway Patrol.
