Dear Major Duarte,
I would like to take a moment of your time and express to you our sincere appreciation for providing us with driver safety training at Choctawhatchee Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CHELCO) in DeFuniak Springs on July 13, 2006. The presenter, Lt. Steve Preston, of Troop A in Pensacola, gave the presentation in a very professional, interesting and most importantly, learnable manner.
Through his vast experience (18 ½ years) as a patrolman, he was able to relate pertinent information that we as an electric co-op, which travels hundreds of thousands of miles per year can put to use on a daily basis. He combined short stories of his experiences on the highways with a little humor, a lot of hard hitting facts and a degree of sincerity that kept everyone’s attention for the entire presentation.
Following the training session, I receive numerous phone calls from attendees telling me how good the training was and since I was not the one who gave this training, I thought it was only right to pass along the accolades to Lt. Preston, through you, on a job well done.
Additionally, the word got out so quickly that our affiliate, CHELCO Services, Inc. (CSI) of DeFuniak Springs, is already interested in bringing Lt. Preston to one of their training sessions in the near future. I will give them the appropriate information to ensure they are able to contact him.
Please extend to Lt. Preston our gratitude for his time and expertise, as well as his service in the Florida Highway Patrol. In my humble opinion, his dedication makes him an asset to the force and he should be commended for his efforts.
With great respect and sincerity,
Scott M. Hybiske
Safety and Training Coordinator
