To whom it may concern:

To begin, I would like to commend the Florida Highway Patrol for being responsive to small emergencies. My wife and I were traveling to Tampa for a small vacation during the 2005 Christmas season. The hour was late and we decided to stop at the first rest area in Florida on Insterstate 75.

It was a particularly cold evening and the car was kept running to provide some heat. A couple of hours later our vehicle ran out of gas. The officer on duty at the rest area was Brian Creech (possibly misspelled).

Mr. Creech promptly took myself and my wife to next available gas station. The only gas station open in the early morning was 14 miles down the interstate. On the return trip to the rest area, the keys to our vehicle were not in our possession. Upon our return, Officer Creech helped look for the keys, and thankfully they were found.

I was impressed with the courtesy of Officer Creech and also his understanding in my "minor" emergency. Please e mail my account to verify receipt of this e mail.

Very Gratefully,

Matthew Schaefer
