To Florida State Highway Patrol:
My name is Robert Thawley, I live in Gautier, Ms. Recently, as you know, Hurricane Katrina did major damage to the Mississippi Gulf Coast. In the days immediately following the storm, my kids and I were pleasantly surprise to see the first group of responders that came to our town was from the Florida State Highway Patrol. Over the days that followed it was comforting to see the manner in which your officers began assisting our local Police in taking control of a very bad situation.
I know that some of the task that were placed upon them were not the most enjoyable that any police officer wants to do, but at all times they displayed professionalism and kindness that is seldom seen these days.
I had lost my car in the storm making it difficult in getting around. Walking was our only course of action at the time. At every intersecting being manned by Florida State Troopers, I and my family were never concerned about getting across the road safely.
The Florida State Highway Patrol should take great pride in themselves and there organization.
My family and I can never truly express our gratitude and thanks for all the help that the Florida State Highway Patrol has provided to our town.
May GOD bless the Florida State Highway Patrol and keep them safe at all times.
Thank you,
Robert Thawley
