Sgt. Mark Brown Florida Highway Patrol Venice, FL
Dear Sgt. Brown,
I want you to know how much I appreciate you and Trooper Jeffery Van Arsdale's efforts to determine the facts concerning the accident I was involved in with a dump truck at the corner of US 41 and Chamberlain Avenue on Thursday, Oct. 13. If it hadn't been for your perseverance the dump truck driver wouldn't have been charged and justice wouldn't have been done.
I realize it was probably a minor accident when taken in to context of the horrendous wrecks the FHP deals with on a daily basis. However, as far as I am concerned, I had done nothing to cause the accident so it was a big deal to me to have reported correctly.
You didn't have to go the extra mile to determine who was at fault. You didn't have to take the time to go back to the scene and investigate it further. But you did.
As I understand it, you and Trooper Van Arsdale concluded there was no way I could have cut in front of the dump truck that hit my car when the truck left 200 feet of skid marks on the road.
It is very gratifying to know that someone with the Florida Highway Patrol would take the time to check further into the details of my case and determine what actually happened.
Thanks again.
