I would like to take this opportunity to commend you for your actions during a traffic stop in St. Lucie County. Your attention to detail and dedication to duty is greatly appreciated.

On October 23, 2003, you initiated a traffic stop on a 1996 Chevy Pickup, Reg#A55AVI (FL) for a violation of the tint law. During the stop, you identified the driver as Hector Medrano whose license was suspended for DUI convictions. Subsequently, Mr. Medrano was arrested and a search of the vehicle was conducted utilizing K-9 Goose. Goose alerted to the exterior and interior of the Chevy, which induced a hand search of the truck. During the search, you located two baggies that were discovered containing methamphetamine. The packages were discovered to contain 851.8 grams valued at $85,180.00. You then arrested Mr. Medrano and his passenger, Fidel Gomez. As a result, further investigation was completed by the St. Lucie County Sheriff's Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration. Mr. Medrano and Mr. Gomez were charged with Trafficking in methamphetamine, Possession of methamphetamine, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Again, I would like to commend and thank you for a job well done. Your actions clearly demonstrate your dedication to duty and your continued support on removing illicit drugs off the streets. Your efforts in this area are greatly appreciated.
