To Whom it May Concern:
Let me begin by saying thank you to your organization for the help I recieved during my time of tragedy.
I was hit head-on by a drunk driver on February 20, 2002 on Highway 386 in Gulf County, Florida. At the time, I was seven months pregnant. Trooper Kelsch responded to the accident in three minutes. He kept his questions short and to the point as I was in extreme pain. I consider him the single good thing about that accident scene. What a relief it was to see his face, and to see it so quickly.
He went beyond the call of duty by checking up on me while I was in the emergency room. Not only that, he stayed updated on the criminal case (State of Florida v. Sylvia Smith) as well. When the judge ruled for Ms. Smith to get to go home, which went against mandatory sentencing for her crime, Trooper Kelsch was present at the hearing. Since it had been over a year since the accident, I did not expect to see him, yet he was there. It was very comforting to have him present, for myself and for my husband.
You have a fine department and an excellent trooper on your staff. Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Brandey Herring
