I want to commend and congratulate you on being selected as the first place recipient for the "State Officer of the Year" award, sponsored by Buckle Up Florida, for your efforts in public safety and education in the Polk County area. You speak on a regular basis to elementary and high schools, civic groups, homeowners associations, and large corporations about bicycle, alcohol, seat belt, and driving safety issues. You are also one of the highest enforcers of traffic laws in the Lakeland District. Your enforcement activity for the year 2000 was over 2800 citations and arrests! Again, congratulations on receiving this prestigious award. It was a pleasure for me to be able to attend the awards ceremony at the Florida Police Chiefs Association Conference, and it was good to see you again. Thank you for a job well done, and keep up the good work!
