My niece, Molly Riggs was the victim of a drunk driver Sunday 15, 2002 on I-4 (case #02-28-56902-07). Through this painful ordeal, I have come in contact with three people that the Riggs Family would like recognized for their professionalism and compassion (I hope that I get their ranks correct).
First, Tpr. Wm. Beck. He and the unidentified female Trooper with him), made contact with my Brother and Sister-in-Law, Craig and Jean Riggs (173 Duncan Trail, Longwood) to inform them of the death of their Daughter. My Brother told me of the compassionate and professional manner in which they accomplished a most difficult task.
Second THI Koenig. Although the case was assigned to him on his "days off" he returned calls for information as soon as was humanly possible. He has been diligent and most helpful.
LAST BUT NOT LEAST, Cyr Rodriguez (I hope I spelled the first name right), the Victim Advocate. Her timely answers, quick assistance and ability to cut through and get necessary information for the family has been invaluable!!!! She is very good at her job.
As I am a Law Enforcement Officer also I know that so many times we hear the bad and not the good. This is a shame as the good officers outnumber the bad ones. Please recognize these individuals in whatever manner possible.
