Recently, Troop L District Commander Captain Luis Ramil proactively enhanced traffic enforcement efforts along one of Florida's most dangerous highways that often goes understaffed. With areas of heavy traffic and seasonal fog conditions, Captain Ramil felt compelled to intensify enforcement efforts by sending eleven troopers to the Glades portion of Palm Beach County. Troopers saturated U.S. Highway 27 for four hours, and issued 84 citations, 20 warnings and 9 faulty equipment violations. Troopers certainly created a safer driving environment during this local effort, and not one serious crash occurred on this day along this dangerous stretch of Highway 27.
