Recently, Trooper Luis Orozco, Bureau of Investigations (Central Region) received information concerning possible fraudulent activities involving a 2005 Cadillac Escalade, valued at $35,000, that was being offered for sale on ebay. It was alleged that a counterfeit Virginia Certificate of Title was used to register the vehicle in Florida in the name of the seller. Contact was made with the male subject in reference to the 2005 Cadillac, and he agreed to meet with a person he believed to be a potential buyer, but was actually an FHP investigator.

The meeting took place at the Florida Mall in Orlando where Trooper Orozco met with the subject, assisted by Lt. Antonio Bartolome and Sgt. Spencer Ross. The subject was detained while Lt. Bartolome inspected the 2005 Cadillac. Sgt. Ross was searching the suspect when he discovered a clear plastic bag containing a white substance and another one containing green leafy substances later identified as Cocaine and Marijuana. In addition, $1,259 in cash was discovered in the suspect's right pocket. Lt. Bartolome verified that the Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and Federal Safety Sticker were counterfeit. After obtaining the Confidential VIN, it was determined that the vehicle was stolen out of New York. While conducting inventory of the 2005 Cadillac, the following items were also found: a Taser with the serial number removed, a 45 caliber pistol with the serial number removed, a 9mm that had been stolen from Georgia, and approximately .25 pounds of Cocaine.

The suspect was arrested and transported to the Orange County Jail and charged with multiple felony charges to include: Dealing in Stolen Property, Grand Theft Auto, Possession of Cocaine, and Possession of a Stolen Firearm by a Convicted Felon.
