Trooper Robert Smith uses the BAT Mobile for DUI enforcement.
Since almost one third of all traffic fatalities in Florida involve drunk drivers, it is critical that law enforcement agencies across our state step up their DUI enforcement efforts to get drunk drivers off our roads. In response, troopers in Miami continue to work hard to enforce our state’s DUI laws, joining forces with agency specialty units and Auxiliary members to maximize our agency’s DUI enforcement efforts.

Trooper Mary Jackson works a DUI checkpoint.
Members of the K-9 unit, Occupant Protection Specialists, Recruiters, and Motor Squad members can all be seen working DUI checkpoints and saturation patrols around Miami-Dade County, along with fellow law enforcement officers from the county and city. Thanks to FHP Auxiliary members, Troop E’s Bat Mobile can be found at most DUI checkpoints hosted by law enforcement partners from every agency in Miami-Dade County.
