First, in the city of Tampa, a *FHP call into the Tampa Bay Regional Communications Center resulted in the capture of a kidnapping suspect and the rescue of the victim. Tampa Troopers Todd Madely and Jack Hypes responded to an area where a caller was following a vehicle on I-4 in Hillsborough County. The caller had seen a female passenger through the back window of the vehicle who was bound and gagged and covered in blood. Troopers located the vehicle and made the traffic stop without incident, taking the suspect into custody and saving the victim’s life. The suspect was booked into the Hillsborough County Jail by Troopers for Armed Kidnapping and Aggravated Battery.

Next, the following week in Brooksville, Troopers Hazen Ogden, Jimmie Davis, and Jason Lemery while working a traffic stop in Sumter County, the driver advised the troopers that she was headed to a residence in Pasco County where her abducted daughter and the kidnapper were reportedly hiding. Our troopers notified the local police department to follow up on the driver’s claim. Not only were they able to locate the missing teen, but they arrested the suspect on numerous warrants. Great job by all involved!
