Recently, Trooper Gonzalez and local DEA agents from the West Palm Beach office were conducting an investigation based on information obtained from a previous FHP narcotics arrest when the investigation led to a grow house bust in Loxahatchee. The home owner permitted the DEA agents and Trooper Gonzalez to enter his residence. Upon entering, they detected a strong odor of raw marijuana, which prompted a search of the residence. The search revealed a three-car garage, which had been converted into a hydroponics marijuana grow lab. A total of 92 adult marijuana plants were immediately seized along with over two pounds of cultivated marijuana that was packaged for sale. The home owner was arrested and charged with possession of Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana with Intent Sell, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Additional federal charges may follow.
