CIP Troopers Jason Lemery & Jimmie Davis are still hot on the warpath against drug trafficking in Florida! While working S.O.A.R. in Sumter County, they stopped the driver of a 2003 Lincoln for illegal window tint and following too closely.

When the driver appeared extremely nervous and scared, Trooper Davis walked K-9 Jewels around the vehicle. Jewels immediately alerted to the front passenger door where a few stems of marijuana were also visible on the front and rear floorboards of the car. Further search of the vehicle revealed a backpack on the rear seat filled with a large stash of U.S. currency—$85,000 worth!

When troopers Davis and Lemery searched the trunk, they found a large black duffel bag containing ten sealed bags of sinsemilla weighing approximately five pounds with an estimated street value of $17,250.

The CIP team contacted the DEA for the possibility of a federal investigation, along with the Brooksville office of the FDLE. The driver was arrested. Agents from the DEA and FDLE met with the troopers at the Sumter County Jail to interview the suspect. The driver was booked on drug trafficking charges. Evidence is being stored pending further investigation by the DEA.
