Recently, Roger Dean Stadium in Jupiter, Florida hosted the annual Heroes Night at the Ballpark during a minor league baseball game between the Sarasota Reds and the Palm Beach Cardinals. Complimentary tickets were offered to all area law enforcement and fire department employees in Palm Beach County.

As part of the night's exciting activities, the Florida Highway Patrol's representative, Sergeant Kurt Hardley, was asked to throw out the ceremonial first pitch to start the game. Sergeant Hardley is a twenty-three year veteran with the Patrol, currently assigned to Troop L's traffic homicide unit in West Palm Beach. The Florida Highway Patrol thanks Roger Dean Stadium for remembering all of Palm Beach County's heroes.
