Sergeant C. T. McCormick
Sergeant C. T. McCormick

Sergeant C. T. McCormick was patrolling Interstate 10 in Escambia County when he received a BOLO for a vehicle involved in a road rage incident in which a driver pointed a handgun at another driver. Sgt. McCormick responded to the area where the suspect was last seen and observed the suspect vehicle traveling eastbound on I-10 as it exited the interstate. Sgt. McCormick observed an equipment violation on the vehicle and made a traffic stop. When the driver exited the vehicle, Sgt. McCormick observed a handgun in the door pocket. The subject was taken into custody. After further investigation, it was determined he was the suspect in the road rage incident. The suspect was charged with aggravated assault with a firearm, carrying a concealed firearm, possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, reckless display, driving with a suspended drivers license, and grand theft of a firearm. As a result of Sgt. McCormick’s quick action, a dangerous person was removed from Florida’s roadways.
