Captain Wade Osborn, District Commander of the Venice Auxiliary Unit, was recently named as the 2005 Auxiliary Trooper of the Year award by Colonel Chris Knight, Director of the Florida Highway Patrol, and Colonel Steven Sheffer, Director of the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary. The ceremony was held during the annual Auxiliary Training Meeting (ATM) held in Orlando.

Captain Osborn was selected as the 2005 Auxiliary Trooper of the Year for his resourcefulness, initiative, volunteer work, and overall contributions to his community, troop, and state.

In addition, Auxiliary Trooper Rubin Moore from the Bradenton Auxiliary Unit received an award for the most hours in Limited Scope Patrol.
