City of Tampa Public Works Director Irvin Lee addresses the public and Media
to promote the new safety campaign along with Troop C Commander Major Tom Knight
and Tampa Police Department Major John Bennet.

The Florida Highway Patrol attended the launching of a new safety campaign targeted at drivers on Tampa’s Hillsborough Avenue. Eyes on Hillsborough will focus on education leading up to the Florida Department of Transportation’s massive roadway construction improvement plan scheduled to begin this year.

In addition to the educational part of the campaign, the FHP, Tampa Police Department, and Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office will aggressively patrol this major corridor to ensure a safer driving environment for both the motorists and construction personnel.
