During the recent 2007 Click It or Ticket campaign, Trooper Justin Menard accomplished an exceptional feat by single-handedly issuing 153 traffic citations in Palm Beach County. This, in itself, would keep most troopers busy, but while Trooper Menard was on patrol, he also rescued a young woman who was being battered by her boyfriend as they traveled down I-95.

A concerned motorist had called *FHP to report the crime. Trooper Menard immediately responded and was able to intercept the suspect’s vehicle. He then arrested the abuser for domestic violence and battery. Trooper Menard not only saved the young woman from further abuse, but ensured the safety of her small child who was in the vehicle and witnessed the abuse.

Every day our troopers save countless lives and prevent injuries by enforcing traffic laws, and as in this case, a trooper was there to help protect a young mother and her child.
