Trooper Leon Gill, Troop B Training Coordinator, recently conducted "Felony Stop Scenario" training at the FHP Auxiliary's (FHPA) Annual Training Meeting (ATM). The ATM is a statewide training meeting for FHPA members. Mandatory training classes as well as a variety of other training sessions are conducted during this annual event. Trooper Gill was requested to train the FHPA members in the crucial steps to follow when conducting a felony traffic stop.

Trooper Gill talks the FHPA troopers through each stage of the "Felony Traffic Stop" to insure they comprehend the importance of communication and safety during this dangerous event. FHPA troopers are instructed to give the violator loud, clear, and precise verbal commands to remove him from his vehicle.

During this scenario of the "Felony Stop" training, Trooper Gill stressed the importance of positioning the violator strategically for better visibility and control. Because of Trooper Leon Gill's extensive training, knowledge, and expertise in law enforcement training, his "Felony Stop" class was one of the classes with the highest attendance during the ATM.
