Recently, Trooper Michael Jensen, FHP Bureau of Investigations (Southern Region), seized six 1999 Volvo tractors after following up on an investigation into a CDL fraud complaint. During the fraud investigation, Trooper Jensen further examined the company where the suspect in the case worked, and found that the company had six Volvo tractors that had been converted to tri-axle Gunite dump trucks. The original trucks had been single axle day cab tractors. The company had fraudulently titled the trucks by not following DMV procedures. The trucks were subsequently seized per the Florida Contraband Forfeiture Act. An inspection of the trucks revealed missing and altered part numbers for the drive components. Continued investigation into the company and its equipment is ongoing.
