Recently at the Florida Highway Patrol Auxiliary Annual Awards Banquet in Orlando, retiring FHPA Major Harold Goff received numerous awards and recognition for his years of service. What made this event so significant is that he leaves the FHPA after an unprecedented 52 years of service to the organization. The first member ever to be given a permanent title, Harold was given the rank of Major Emeritus in 2002, because of his service in leadership positions for so many years. He even served as Colonel of the FHPA in the mid eighties. Even so, his primary mission was to provide back-up and assistance to the trooper on the road. Congratulations to Major Goff.
