FHPA Lt. Twist takes a minute to pose with the Shoney Bear and some kids at Children's Day 2006.
Recently, Troop B teamed up with the Early Learning Coalition of Florida's Gateway, Inc. (ELC-FG) to celebrate Children's Day 2006. The ELC-FG is a non-profit organization that provides early learning services such as School Readiness and Voluntary Pre-Kindergarten to families in the surrounding counties.

by making a hoop at the FHP mini-basketball goal.
The event offered free food and drinks for all attendees, as well as games, pony rides, and drawings for prizes for the children. In an effort to promote quality early learning experiences, the event sponsors work with public schools, private agencies, faith-based providers, and family child care homes to promote positive activities that focus on all areas of a child's development. The Florida Highway Patrol was happy to be a part of this event and have the chance to interact with the preschool children and explain the importance of seat belts and child safety seats.
