The goal of the Florida Highway Patrol is to increase usage from past holidays by all motorists and passengers with a strong educational and enforcement effort. The safety event was held at the Lake Worth Service Plaza along Florida's Turnpike. Several Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) officers were on hand to provide boating safety tips. Also, State Representative Slosberg, Palm Beach Sheriff's Office, AAA Auto Club and Verizon Representatives were on hand to provide safety tips. Verizon Wireless gave motorists 500 pairs of hands free cell phone devices. Occupant Protection Specialist (OPS), Trooper Conya Bassett checked many child seats for motorists that stopped at the service plaza. Thanks to everyone that made this safety event a success.
