The newest addition to the Florida Highway Patrol Canine Team recently went through his certification process in Gainesville. K-9 "Tanner" was purchased and assigned to a certified handler, who for many weeks worked and trained "Tanner". Once they became proficient, the team showed off their skills at the state certification test. The test was administered by state certified evaluators who put the team through multiple challenges. K-9 "Tanner" and his handler successfully demonstrated that they were worthy of being a certified law enforcement canine team.

Currently, FHP has 30 canines deployed statewide. Congratulations to K-9 "Tanner"
