Students are put in marching formation when they arrive.
Recently, students from William R. Boone High School in Orlando came to take their annual tour of the Florida Highway Patrol Training Academy. This year the location has changed and their third tour, became their first visit to the new training academy located at the Pat Thomas facility in Midway. Lieutenant Robert Ifft along with Sergeant Bob Boucher, Sergeant Ken Ellis, and Trooper Todd Carter welcomed the students to the Academy. After touring the FHP museum and watching a video about FHP Recruit Training, the students had a question and answer session with Chief Silvester Dawson, Director of the FHP Academy. The students then were taken to the driving and firearms ranges before heading home.
