$44,800 dollars in Marijuana

On March 28, 2006, Trooper Paul Teslo and Trooper Valarie Biddle stopped a 2006 Chrysler (rental) for unlawful speed, eastbound on Interstate 10. The FHP aircraft flown by Lt. Tom Mallow had clocked the vehicle. The Troopers became suspicious after the driver produced a NY driver license, a Florida identification card, and a Resident Alien Card with different dates of birth. Troopers Brandon Overstreet and Rich Elliott along with K-9 "Ozzy" were requested. Upon arrival, K-9 "Ozzy" alerted on the vehicle. A search of a large black bag located in the back seat revealed 64 pounds of marijuana packaged in 2, 2 1/2, 3, 3 1/2 pound packages wrapped in clear plastic wrap. The marijuana is estimated to be worth $44,800 dollars. A small bag of cocaine was also found in a cigarette pack on the dash. The driver from Orlando was placed under arrest for possession of marijuana over 20 grams, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine and trafficking in marijuana. The driver was transported to the Leon county jail
