Recently, the Lake Worth Regional Communications Center was contacted by the U.S. Marshals Office and the Chattanooga Police Department regarding the kidnapping of a 19 year old female illegal alien by a smuggling group. The vehicle used was known to have multiple Hispanic occupants and was reportedly traveling on the Florida Turnpike. The communication center issued a B.O.L.O. (Be on the Look out) for the vehicle to all units patrolling the highways. Trooper John Clerico, who was patrolling the northern end of the Turnpike in Lake County, spotted a vehicle heading northbound that fit the description. Trooper Darryl Crawford and Trooper Bharat Persaud immediately responded as back-up for Trooper Clerico. The vehicle continued northbound on Interstate 75 into Marion County where it was stopped. Thanks to the efforts of all involved, the kidnapped victim was rescued unharmed and four male occupants were taken into custody.
