Confiscated drugs

Recently, Trooper J. C. Harrison stopped a 1985 Oldsmobile in Jackson County on State Road 69 for an equipment violation. The driver nor the passenger were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the traffic stop, and both were issued traffic citations for that offense. When they appeared to be overly nervous, Trooper Harrison became suspicious of some type of criminal activity and requested consent to search the vehicle and the persons of both the driver, and passenger. Consent was obtained and a subsequent search revealed 1.3 grams of Methamphetamines, 1.2 grams of Cocaine, drug paraphernalia, a weapon, and a handgun. It was determined that the drug related items belonged to the passenger. The passenger was subsequently arrested and transported to the Jackson County Jail and booked on multiple drug charges.
