A recent traffic stop on Interstate 75 in Hillsborough County led to the capture of three suspects, the recovery of two firearms, and seizure of a significant amount of drugs by Troop C's Contraband Interdiction Program members Trooper Bob Lanese, Trooper Steve Varnell, and K-9 Draco. After the traffic stop was made for illegal window tint on the late model Chevrolet sedan, Troopers Lanese and Varnell detected a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. A search revealed a Glock 40 caliber pistol (stolen), and another concealed Glock 10 millimeter pistol, along with over three pounds of marijuana hidden in the vehicle. All three occupants were placed under arrest and the drugs and weapons were removed from Florida’s highways. Great Job!
