Awards presented to troopers

Recently, the Okaloosa/Walton County Chapter of MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Drivers) held their awards dinner to recognize those who work to remove impaired drivers from the roadway. Once again, three troopers from the Crestview District were recognized for their enforcement efforts in gettting drunk drivers off the road. Troopers John Leib, Kelly Carrico, and Robert Cook all received certificates at a candle light ceremony conducted by members of the Choctaw High School SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) Chapter to remember the victims of crashes involving drunk drivers. The invocation and closing remarks were made by FHP Chaplin Cliff Morgan, a former trooper from the Pensacola area who currently serves the Crestview district and the Okaloosa County Sheriff's Office. Troopers Leib, Carrico, and Cook are to be commended for their efforts in removing impaired drivers from area roadways and reducing potential deaths and injuries as a result of DUI offenders.
