During the annual Aviation Day hosted by Page Field, the Florida Highway Patrol was ready to share safety messages and have some fun. Troop F conducted a variety of safety demonstrations while troopers and Auxiliary members spent the afternoon showing off one of FHP's planes with Sgt. Gary Schluter, an FHP pilot. Also on display was an unmarked Marauder patrol vehicle and one of our Rollover Simulators. Willing volunteers were also given the opportunity to perform some exercises while wearing the Fatal Vision goggles, which demonstrate the dangers of drinking and driving. Visitors to the event were allowed to sit in the FHP plane, the Marauder, and a marked patrol car to see what being a Florida Highway Patrol Trooper is all about.
