The Leon County Multi-Agency DUI Strike Force organized the recent Operation Bowl Games enforcement blitz, teaming up local law enforcement personnel to help catch speeders and impaired drivers on Interstate 10 during the pre-holiday bowl game season. FHP troopers and officers from the Florida Department of Transportation, Leon County Sheriff's Office and the Tallahassee Police Department worked together using lasers, radar, aircraft, motorcycles, and K-9 units--twenty separate units in all--to watch for motorists using excessive speed, driving aggressively, or driving impaired on stretches of I-10 in Leon County during the two day event. It is hoped that this special operation helped to ensure the safety of travelers on the Interstate--preventing traffic crashes & injuries, and saving lives!
