The Florida Highway Patrol’s Bureau of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations conducted a joint investigation with the National Insurance Crime Bureau that led to the recovery of four stolen luxury vehicles with tampered Vehicle Identification Numbers. All four vehicles were stolen from New York and New Jersey, where authorities recently broke up a large stolen vehicle operation. Further investigation revealed the vehicles arrived in Florida with fraudulent documentation. Etimated retail value of the vehicles is approximately $385,000.

Investigators recovered a 2009 Mercedes CL 550 and a 2009 Maserati Quattroport S from a private residence in Parkland. They recovered a 2010 Land Rover and a 2012 Bentley Continental Flying Spur from a dealership in Dania Beach. The dealership in Dania Beach had sold the Mercedes and Maserati.
