On April 16 20 Florida Highway Patrol members participated in the 15th Annual Florida Tour de Force Bicycle Ride.

The Florida Tour De Force ride is a 270-mile charity bicycle ride from North Miami Beach Police Department to Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety Department. The ride honors and raises money for Florida's law enforcement fallen heroes. This year's tour will benefit the families of all fallen Florida law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty in 2011.

The inaugural 1997 Tour de Force ride was dedicated to one of FHPs own, Trooper Robert Smith, who was killed in the line of duty by a drunk driver.
