 Maj. Eddie Johnson Jr. (FHP Troop A Commander) participated in the Statement of Support signing ceremony in Pensacola along with representatives from several state law enforcement agencies and members of the military reserve forces.

May 13 was Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve Day in Florida. To highlight this event, the Florida Highway Patrol joined forces with the Department of Defense Employer Support for the Guard and Reserve to host a series of ceremonies statewide where numerous state law enforcement agencies signed Statements of Support to demonstrate the agencies’ commitment to employees who serve in the National Guard and the Reserve.

 Lt. Col. David Brierton (FHP Deputy Director of Patrol Operations) and representatives from every state law enforcement agency in Florida gathered at the State Capitol to sign the ESGR Statements of Support.

In the largest effort of its kind, simultaneous events were held in Pensacola, Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Orlando, Tampa, West Palm Beach, and Miami with representatives from state law enforcement agencies and the ESGR, as well as local dignitaries, supporters, veterans, and members of the Guard and Reserve. The Statements of Support are a tangible reminder of the employers’ commitment to supporting the patriotic men and women who serve voluntarily in an honorable and vital profession while recognizing that they are essential to the strength of our nation and the well-being of our communities.
