Trooper Ryan
Trooper John Ryan

On 11/21/09, Trooper John Ryan responded to a BOLO (Be On the Look-Out) issued from the Tampa Bay Regional Communication Center regarding the abduction of a female who had called 911 while she was traveling south on Interstate 275. The victim advised she was traveling in a blue Magnum with a Florida license plate. She stated the driver of the vehicle, a Hispanic male friend of a friend, was holding her against her will and would not stop the car. The Hispanic male forced his way into her car and she was in fear for her life. The TBRCC continued to update Trooper Ryan as he responded to the area. Trooper Ryan located the suspect and victim, confirmed the tag and observed the driver and victim. He conducted a traffic stop when St. Petersburg Police Officers arrived as back up.

Trooper Ryan confirmed the victim was being held against her will, made the arrest and transported the suspect to the Pinellas County Jail where he was booked without further incident on the following charges: Kidnapping, Grand Theft of a Motor Vehicle, DUI and Tampering with a witness.
